JAMB UNCOVERS NEW SCAM, ADVISES CANDIDATES TO KEEP REGISTRATION NUMBERS SECRET. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed the new way fraudsters have employed to defraud UTME candidates. The Registrar of The Board Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who disclosed this in a weekly news bulletin which was released yesterday by the organization’s Head of Media, Dr. Fabian Benjamin. He advised all candidates to “jealously guard their UTME registration numbers and profile codes to avoid falling victim of this latest scam”. According to him, what these fraudsters do is to take advantage of their naivety and subsequently obtain their registration numbers with which they print their examination notifications slips, which contain the candidates’ phone number and other vital data. JAMB assures candidates 2019 UTME results will be released by Monday JAMB assures candidates 2019  UTME results  will be released by Monday –  The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board have assured candidates who sat for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination that results would be ready from Monday, April 29. The Board’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dr Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Bwari. He said this was part of the board’s effort to address the issues of malpractice in the system. The board had stated that it would only release the 2019  UTME result s after undergoing thorough screening to identify and apprehend examination cheats. The process would identify those involved in multiple registrations through biometric capturing and also address group registration by some elite schools, who end up mixing candidate’s data. The board, in a statement signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Fabian Benjamin, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja, said the report was false. The report had claimed that scores of candidates who sat for the UTME and were found to have cheated were made to lose 100 marks.
