JAMB, Institutions Approve 160 as Cut-off Mark for 2019 Admission
The remarkable meeting of The 2019 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria has approved 160 and above as the national minimum benchmark for admission for the year 2019 into public universities such as State Universities and Federal Universities.

The meeting held at Bola Babalakin Auditorium, Gbongan, Osun State, on Tuesday also approved 140 as minimum UTME score for admission into private universities.

For public polytechnic, 120 UTME score was approved, while 110 score was approved as the least score for admission into private polytechnic.

For colleges of education, 100 and above was approved as the cut-off marks.
This means that the 2019 Admission process has just begun. Schools will begin announcing their Post-UTME sales forms and screening dates any moment from now. Mr Oloyede, however, said admission into all universities would be conducted on Central Admission Processing System.
According to him, JAMB is not responsible for the fixing of cut-off marks for tertiary institutions but rather a consensus between the institutions and stakeholders at the policy meeting.
Mr Oloyede, however stated that institutions cannot fix cut-off marks below what the stakeholders decided at the policy meeting.

There are strong indications that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board many cancel half of the results of candidates that took the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in some states. JAMB Denies Parents Right To Make Changes To Candidates’ Profiles As From 2020 UTME Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stated that parents, guardians and other proxies of candidates have been barred henceforth from making changes to the data page or profile of candidates for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). According to the board, only candidates could henceforth make such changes in their data page or profile. This development was contained in a letter by its Director of Test Administration Department, on behalf of the Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede. Admission 2019: Jamb gives latest update on cut off mark – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board says it has not published the national and general minimum cut-off marks of Admission 2019 of candidates into the nation’s tertiary institutions as being speculated in some quarters. The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, on Wednesday in Lagos.
